Student Hit by Car after Exiting Bus

Houston, TX–A local student was hit after exiting a bus. On December 8, Tuesday, at around 4 pm, the student got off this bus. Sydney, Australia–Researchers at the Liverpool Hospital Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit have found that re-teaching social communication skills to people who have suffered traumatic brain injury can help them recover from their injuries. The study found that such education can help victims’ brains better respond to visual and social cues and thus better read other individuals’ emotions.

18 victims were chosen; all of them had suffered sever blows to their skulls (and thus TBI) in at least the last six month and were unable to ascertain others’ emotions accurately. In the study, the patients were asked to read other’s emotions through pictures and sounds. Then, they were put through an education program and then asked once again to read other’s emotions.

NHL Stiffens Punishment for Head Hits

The National Hockey League has said it will crackdown on hits to the head, which have seen an increase this season. The NHL has called hits to the head “deliberate, avoidable, and illegal.”
